1. Core Components and Their Functions

Solar Panels (Photovoltaic Modules)
Core function: Convert sunlight into direct current (DC).

Controller (Photovoltaic Charge-Discharge Controller)
Core function: Regulate the flow of electrical energy and protect the battery and system safety.

Battery Bank
Core function: Store the electrical energy generated by solar panels for use when there is no sunlight.

Inverter
Core function: Convert the direct current (DC) output from the battery into alternating current (AC) commonly used in household appliances.

2.Working Process (in a daily cycle)

Daytime Power Generation and Charging Phase
Sunlight irradiates the solar panels, generating direct current;
The direct current is processed by the controller, and part of it is directly supplied to DC loads (such as DC lamps, routers);
The remaining electrical energy is regulated by the controller to charge the battery bank for storage.

Night or Cloudy Day Power Supply Phase
When there is no sunlight, the solar panels stop generating electricity;
The controller switches to discharge mode, and the battery releases direct current;
The direct current is converted into alternating current by the inverter to supply AC loads in the home;
The controller monitors the battery power in real-time and automatically cuts off the power when it drops to the protection value to avoid over-discharging.

Off-grid systems need to be "tailor-made" according to household electricity demand. The core parameters include:

• Power Generation: The total power of solar panels must match the average daily electricity consumption (considering local sunshine duration and seasonal differences);
• Energy Storage Capacity: The battery must meet the electricity demand at night and during consecutive cloudy and rainy days (usually storing 3-7 days of electricity consumption);
• Inverter Power: It must cover the maximum instantaneous power of the household (such as the peak power when the air conditioner starts).
